Well you can certainly say that all the exhibition spaces went very quickly! We now have our list of 2019 exhibitors & thank you all for taking part in our annual event. You will be able to bring your paintings to the studio from the week after Easter (23rd April onwards) on any workshop day.

So now is the time to choose which paintings you wish to submit, if you haven't already done so. Also, you now have a couple of weeks to get the necessary preparations made for your paintings. Good preparation is very important as we want to have the most professional exhibition that we can achieve.

TITLE:.Choosing a title for your painting can be tricky! It can be as simple or as poetic as you wish. Sometimes it can be the title that can help sell a painting so it is worth thinking carefully about this. You can either write the title on the wooden frame of the canvas or tape a label to the back (you can make your own labels or I have attached to this email ones that you can print out).

SIGNATURE:. Ideally you will have signed your painting. We normally select a spot in the bottom right hand corner of the canvas and use a fine round brush in a complementary colour to the painting. Use a very light touch as if you press on then the signature will be too thick. We generally use paint which has a bit of water added as this will help the brush to glide.

HOOKS:. It is absolutely vital that your canvas has fixings attached. Ideally these will be the eyelet hooks which are pictured on the Exhibition Pack. These are easily available from any hardware shop. If your painting does not have eyelets/fixings then we will not be able to display it as our time to set up the exhibition is extremely limited. FINISHING:. Have a good look at your painting. If you have painted the edges, have you checked them? If you have painted the sides but forgotten the bottom of the canvas for example then you can revisit the finishing touches. We are hoping to sell as many of your paintings as we can, but in the past we have had customers select a different painting if the first one they were looking at was not properly finished.

SUBMISSION FORM:. These are included in your exhibition pack. Complete with your name and contact number and the titles of your paintings. It is fine to leave the price section blank if you would rather discuss this with us first. If they are 'not for sale' then we will clearly mark this on your form. Tracey and I will retain the form as a record of your submission. We will also have some blank forms at the studio.

PACKING:. And finally, please put your paintings into a bag which is labelled with your name. Ideally sandwiched between card to protect them with canvas side facing in to the inside of the bag for maximum protection. This will help us to transport your treasured paintings safely.
